My journey with photography began at the tender age of seventeen when I acquired my first camera. It sparked a passion that continues to burn brightly today. I spent countless carefree days exploring the captivating landscapes of Pembrokeshire on my motorbike, my trusty 35mm Canon and a detailed ordnance survey map in tow. Each twist and turn of the coastal roads and countryside tracks offered a new vista, a fresh opportunity to capture the essence of these captivating surroundings. While the motorbike might be a thing of the past, my dedication to photography has only deepened over the years.

The rugged beauty and diverse landscapes of Pembrokeshire and Wales have served as my constant muse. I am drawn to the stories they whisper, the narratives etched into their very fabric. From the windswept coast battered by the elements in the depths of winter to the faded grandeur of a derelict farm cottage, from the weathered contours of a mountain pass to the historic remnants of a rural chapel, each location holds a unique allure. It is the essence of this Welsh landscape, its poignant beauty and enduring spirit, that I strive to capture in my work.

My Photographic Approach

I find profound inspiration in the interplay of light and shadow, particularly during the autumnal, winter, and early spring months. The low-angled sun casts dramatic contrasts, highlighting the textures and nuances of the landscape. These seasons also bring 'proper' weather: relentless rain, piercing winds, and frosty mornings that demand resilience. I revel in the challenge of working with these elements, allowing them to inform and shape my artistic vision.
